In an effort to bring more outdoor education and programming to Arkadelphia and Clark County, the City of Arkadelphia is excited to announce its partnership with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC).

Starting Tuesday, November 1, AGFC Educator Mickey Bivens will be hosting monthly youth archery classes for area children to attend.

The youth archery class is designed for children ages 6-18. Classes are free to attend, and will meet once a month at the Youth Sports Complex for two hours or until dark.

Bivens is no stranger to Arkadelphia and Clark County. Before becoming an educator with AGFC, Bivens served as the Recreations Program Manager with Arkadelphia Parks and Recreation. Bivens, who still calls Arkadelphia home, says he is excited for the opportunity to serve this community once again.

“Arkadelphia quickly became my home, and I’m excited because there are so many great things AGFC can offer this community,” Bivens said. “Our archery circuit is the first of many programs to come.”

City officials plan to grow their partnership with AGFC in the coming months through offering a variety of hunting, fishing and other conservation education programs.

Registration is open for Tuesday’s youth archery class. To sign up for Tuesday’s class, CLICK HERE.
