Arkadelphia, AR – Clark County and the Clark County Office of Emergency Management, alongside the City of Arkadelphia, announced today its new emergency notification system, ClarkArk Alerts.

Powered by RAVE Alert Mass Notification systems, ClarkArk Alerts is an SMS program designed to notify residents and businesses of issues related to health and safety.

City and county officials plan to use ClarkArk Alerts to deliver emergency and non-emergency notifications to county residents and employees.

Examples of emergency notifications include, but are not limited to:

  • Severe weather alerts
  • Amber alerts
  • Boil orders
  • Street closures
  • Other life-threatening situations

Non-emergency alerts may include:

  • Annual fire hydrant flushes
  • Cancellation of sanitation services
  • Other non-life-threatening situations

“This dynamic, multi-functional notification system allows us to notify the public of various emergency and non-emergency situations,” Tate Chanler, Director of Clark County Emergency Services, said. “We’re going to be able to send an alert directly to residents and employees when they need us most. It’s going to be a great thing.”

Chanler and his office spent months researching and trouble-shooting various emergency notification systems. City of Arkadelphia City Manager Gary Brinkley says he is pleased with the decision to purchase a RAVE product.

“RAVE has a proven track record of being an effective tool to improve safety and communication with the residents in which it serves,” Brinkley said. “We look forward to working with the county and this system to better inform our residents.”
