The City of Arkadelphia’s Parks and Recreation department is getting into the holiday spirit a little early this year. The department is in the midst of planning its second annual holiday vendor show.
Blitzen’s Bargain Market will be held at the Recreation Center on Saturday, December 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Formerly known as “Christmas Market Days,” this year’s event not only has a new name, but also a shorter timeframe.
“We learned a lot from last year,” City Manager Gary Brinkley said. “Two days was too long for this style of event, and the branding just wasn’t the right fit. Blitzen’s Bargain Market perfectly represents who the department is and what the event provides: Quality products, affordability and fun.”
Currently, over 50 regional vendors have signed up to participate in the December 10 event.
These vendors specialize in everything from painting and woodworking to home goods and clothing.
“There’s something for everybody, which is exactly what Parks and Rec is all about,” Brinkley said.
The walking track, fitness area and basketball court will be closed on December 10. Normal operations will resume at the Recreation Center on Sunday, December 11.
