Police Department

The City of Arkadelphia Police Department is dedicated to serving and protecting the Arkadelphia community.  The Police Department is divided into five divisions which include Administration, Communications, Crime Investigation, Patrol Officers, and Code Enforcement.

The administration division of the Arkadelphia Police Department consists of the Chief of Police, the Communications Supervisor, and one Administrative Clerk.

The Arkadelphia Police Department has four full-time dispatchers, and one part-time dispatcher all of which are trained on the National Crime Information Center and Arkansas Crime Information Center databases and equipment.  The Communications Supervisor serves in a multi-functional position supervising communications, assisting with the Police Department’s annual budget, maintaining records for all officers and dispatch activity statistics, supervising court dockets, and bond and fine intake.

The Arkadelphia Police Department has two officers dedicated to Criminal Investigations.  CID handles all cases or incidents which require an investigation and include both felony and misdemeanor charges.

The Arkadelphia Police Department has four shifts that make up the Patrol Division.  Each shift has one shift supervisor and three patrol officers.  This division is considered the eyes and ears of the department, handling the day-to-day incidents and calls that are the majority of the department’s activities.  The City of Arkadelphia also has two School Resource Officers.  Their primary function is to serve at Goza Middle School and Arkadelphia High School to ensure safety and security in our public schools.

In 2007, the Arkadelphia Board of Directors budgeted for a full-time code enforcement officer.  This officer enforces ordinances that govern issues such as dilapidated structures, signage, trash and debris, junk cars, high grass, and tall weeds.  In addition to these issues, he also assists with additional responsibilities for the Police Department.
