City Committees
A&P Commission
The A&P Commission was established on December 15, 2020 through the passing of Ordinance O-20-10 under ACA 26-75-601. This ordinance established a three percent (3%) tax on the gross receipts of hotels, motels and other lodging establishments within city limits. Under ACA 26-75-601, the City of Arkadelphia was authorized to creat an A&P Commission to collect and determine the use of funds collected.

Municipal Airport Advisory Committee
The Municipal Airport Advisory Committee was created in 1998 by the City of Arkadelphia by Ordinance 0-98-11, repealing Ordinance #149, to “make recommendations to the City Manager and the City Board of Directors concerning the operation of the airport.” Members of the six-person committee are selected and approved for a five-year term of service, with the exception of one member who shall be appointed by the Henderson State University President for an indeterminate term by the will of the City of Arkadelphia Board.

Planning Commission

The Planning Commission [Board of Zoning Adjustment] was created in 1956 by the City of Arkadelphia by Ordinance #147 to “formulate and maintain a plan of the territory within its planning jurisdiction.” Members of the nine-person committee are selected and approved for a six-year term of service. The Planning Commission elects a chairman from within the pool of members.

Water and Sewer Committee
Meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month @ 12:00 p.m.
The Water and Sewer Committee was created in 2003 by the City of Arkadelphia by Ordinance O-03-06 to “establish clearer guidelines of authority in the operation of the Water and Sewer Department” and allow for committee supervision for “construction, oversight, operation and maintenance of the Water Works System and the collection of revenues therefrom for the services to be rendered thereby.” Members of the seven-person committee are selected and approved for a five-year term of service. The committee meets monthly to achieve committee goals.
